Welcome to the 2nd Annual English Language Leadership Symposium (2012) hosted by the English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Macau (UM). The inaugural symposium was initiated and hosted by Fulbright Professor Art Bell and colleagues at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011. We are delighted to continue their efforts, making the symposium part of UM ELC’s 10th year anniversary!!
Please join us as we each present an overview of our English language program programs, discuss current challenges and share initiatives during 2 days of networking opportunities. The symposium will begin the morning of Friday, June 15 with “formal” opening and talks to take place that morning followed by a lunch social (complimentary) and an afternoon of “issues” sharing. Take the opportunity to get to know others better with dinner on your own that evening, either in historic Taipa village or picturesque Macau. A “consolidation” discussion is planned for Saturday morning, June 16, with a moderator identifying shared issues and soliciting a discussion of problems and solutions. The symposium will conclude with a lunch social (complimentary) on Saturday. For those who can stay on, a tour of Macau will be offered or please continue to explore and enjoy this magical city on your own. We are happy to assist with lodging arrangements (please see further details and suggestions on the symposium website) and want to make your stay with us as fruitful and enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you to the English Language Leadership Symposium, hosted by the English Language Centre at the University of Macau!!
